We have lit up steps and stairways galore over the years with sideglow cable providing linear runs and bold points of fibre encased in end fittings as accent and decorative lighting. So, when we were approached by an enthusiastic designer with a request for a starfield effect on their stairway the FibrePros team decided to take it a step into unchartered territory.
We worked closely with the designer and her team to deliver her vision and incorporated a majestic starscape panorama into the surface area of the staircase steps producing a random constellation of twinkling starlight as you ascend into the heart of the restaurant. 260 points of light, neatly housed light engines linked to a control element. Walking amongst the stars and stepping on bursts of starlight is a novel and beautiful concept and one we are hoping to see a lot more of!
